A year ago, Gearhead Record store opened in Woodland, California. They had a huge all day music festival with bands from the area, including the Secretions. The Secretions were asked back to play the one year anniversary party, but unfortunately Dan was on tour in Europe. Luckily, Rat-O-Matic was there to fill the void.Although they had already played a show together as a Ramones cover band, this was still technically their first show.
The weather couldn't decide whether to rain or shine, so the attendance was pretty sparse. A couple of Secretins showed up, as well as members of bands that were due to go on later.
I don't attend Rat-O-Matic practices and hadn't heard any of the songs, so I had no idea what to expect. They have all the energy of a good pop punk band with more of a hardcore sound. Mattomatic busted out some really beautiful guitar bits that added some depth and melody. Overall, the band looked like they had a good time, and I know the crowd enjoyed them.
