How many bands get to play Sacramento's biggest Halloween event, Dead Rockstars at Old Ironsides, as their first gig? Not many. Rat-O-Matic made it onto the bill as the Ramones.The band probably would have been nervous if everyone hadn't been so hammered by the time they were due on stage.
Mickie Rat (dressed as Spike from Buffy but pretty much just looking like himself), Mattomatic (zombie John Belushi), and Matt McCool (undead drummer from hell) raced through their three chord set without stopping to breath in signature Ramones style. Mattomatic even busted his hand open and bled all over his guitar.
The crowd, most of who had been dying to see "Mickie Rat's new project," went crazy pogoing and dancing and singing along. Ask anyone who wasn't blacked out and they'll tell you what a blast it was!
